COPY CELLS
----------
Copy right one cell
-------------------
Press F2 to copy the contents of the current cell to the
cell one place to the right. This feature may be used
only in the Data Entry and Formulas screens.
Copy for current year
---------------------
Press F3 to copy the contents of the current cell over
the remaining cells for the current year, to the right of
the current cell. This feature may be used only in the
Data Entry and Formulas screens.
When using this feature in a Data Entry screen, copying
will only proceed up to a cell that has a different formula
method or is a different size period. For example, if there
were four Data Entry quarterly periods in year 1, the
current cell was the first of these quarters and quarters
one, two and three used formula method #101 and
quarter four used formula method #102, the use of F3
would copy the first quarter's cell to the two cells to the
right. However, no change would be made to the fourth
quarterly period as that cell is presently using a different
formula method. If the last quarter was instead three
monthly periods all using formula method #101, no
change would be made to these three months as they
have different size periods than the current cell. These
features provide safety to the user to help avoid careless
errors.
There is no such safety limitations needed in the
Formulas screens.
The use of Ctrl + F2, Ctrl + F3 and Ctrl + F4 bypasses
the safety limitations above. Although very efficient, try
to avoid their use in complex files using many different
size periods and formula methods. However these
commands can be valuable timesavers.
Copy for all years
------------------
Press F4 to copy the contents of the current cell over
the remaining cells for all years, to the right of the
current cell. This feature may be used only in the Data
Entry and Formulas screens.
The safety features noted above apply to this feature.

-------------------------------
Press SHFT + F4 to copy the contents of the current
year's 12 monthly percentages to the 12 monthly cells
for all years to the right of the current cell.
CHANGE
------
Change account number
---------------------
Use this feature to change the current cell's account
number. This operates on sub-accounts only and the
change is made to only the last three digits. You may
not change a number in such a way that the cell's
number is no longer in numerical sequence with the
previous and next lines. However, skipping numbers is
acceptable and allows room for insertion of additional
accounts.
Press F5. You will be prompted for a new account
number in the lower left corner of the screen. Enter a
new account number and press ENTER. If you change
your mind before pressing ENTER, press ESC and your
initial request to change the account number will be
aborted.
The new account number appears throughout the
program and in all printouts and reports.
Caution: Other cells may have been linked to the
previous numbered cell. No changes will be made to
those other cells' link numbers. It will be up to the user
to manually make these changes.
Change account description
--------------------------
Use this feature to change the current cell's account
description. Move the cell-block to the row in question.
The account description to be changed will now be
highlighted. Press F6. You will be prompted for a new
account description in the lower left corner of the
screen. Enter a new account description and press
ENTER. If you change your mind before pressing
ENTER, press ESC and your initial request to change
the account description will be aborted.
Keep in mind that although you can change an
account's description you may not change its character.
For example, the account "Accounts Receivable" will
always remain Accounts Receivable in FW's cash flow
and ratio analysis. Allowance for doubtful accounts will
continue to be entered as a positive amount, but is
processed by FW as an offset to Accounts Receivable.
Goodwill expense will always be non-tax deductible no
matter what account description you may substitute.
The new account description appears throughout the
program and in all printouts and reports.
ADD
---
Add new line
------------
The three Data Entry screens contain approximately 250
predefined accounts. These accounts have account
numbers in even thousands (example: Cash is 100000
and Inventories is 108000). New sub-accounts may be
easily added. These sub-accounts have the same
properties as the main account. For example, if you
added a new Cash account #100001, all forecasted
amounts would be added to cash in the calculation of
Cash Flow and various Ratio Analyses. In addition, this
account could, if you choose, be "rolled-up" into Cash
in Financial Report printouts.
Use this feature to add a new sub-account. Move the
cell-block to the row over the spot where you wish to
insert a new sub-account (the spreadsheet will open
immediately below the current cell). Press INS. The
spreadsheet will open and you will be prompted for a
new sub-account number (the first three digits are those
of the previous account) in the lower left corner of the
screen. Enter a new account number and press ENTER.
If you change your mind before pressing ENTER, press
ESC and your initial request to add a new sub-account
will be aborted.
You will then be prompted for a new account description
in the lower left corner of the screen. Enter a new
account description and press ENTER. If you change
your mind before pressing ENTER, press ESC and your
initial request to add a new sub-account will be aborted.
At this point control will revert back to the spreadsheet
and you may move about the spreadsheet as before.
However, before you may enter amounts or percentages
into the newly created sub-account you must select
formula methods for each Data Entry cell.
You will notice that this new account appears throughout
the program.
The number of new sub-accounts which you may add
is limited by available memory.
DELETE
------
Delete line
-----------
Use this feature to delete a sub-account from a Data
Entry or Formulas screen. Move the cell-block to the row
you wish to delete. Press CTRL+F8. The row will be
deleted.
Note: You may not delete a main (predefined) account.
Mark line for deletion
----------------------
To play what-if-games, you do not need to delete all of
your work. Move the cell-block to the row you wish to
mark for deletion. Press DEL from a Data Entry or
Formulas screen. The row will remain as before, however
an '*' will be denoted to the left of the account
description. If you were to re-calculate your model you
would see that although the account was still there, FW
ignored all Data Entry information. As far as the
calculation is concerned that row does not exist. You
may mark for deletion as many accounts as you wish.
You may even mark a main (predefined) account. For
example, say that you have five possible sales and five
possible matching cost of goods sold scenarios. Instead
of constantly revising your model you would enter all five
scenarios and simply move the '*' and re-calculate.
Remove mark for deletion
------------------------
To remove a mark for deletion simply move the cell-
block to the marked row and press F8 from a Data
Entry or Formulas screen.
